ABOUT US
Learn more about our story and what we stand for.

Take the Torch was founded in May 2020 after a frustrated millennial, Wanesha Spencer, called a wise and willing elder, Hank Stewart. The fiery conversation on the history of racism and it's effects in black and brown communities included names like George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. Something had to be done.
From there, Hank Stewart and Gwendolyn Mason, Founders of The Stewart Foundation, gathered a millennial mastermind group that discussed these issues and these leaders formed Take the Torch.
MISSION
Take the Torch is an organization whose mission is to eradicate racism through intergenerational engagement, education, and empowerment.
CORE VALUES
Our core values are Accountability, Collaboration, and Education.
We are humbled to serve and do our part in taking the torch and bridging the gap.
